Darren has a strong policing background, serving with the Metropolitan Police for ten years in both an operational and training capacity. His background in training has centred around personal safety and public order, delivering an array of courses to officers and fellow trainers, both nationally and internationally within his specialist field.

Since 2000 Darren has worked for Suffolk Police heading up the personal Safety Training Department. He is a qualified home office personal safety trainer of trainers. Core responsibilities include the design, development, implementation and evaluation of training. His other responsibilities include assessing, developing and accrediting trainers within the training department and advising and reporting on subjects within his specialism on a variety of committees.

Darren became a director of IKON Training Ltd in 2004 and has since worked with a host of different agencies in the field of conflict resolution including the police, armed services, NHS trusts, schools, local authority, football clubs and various private sector companies.
